- Fujitsu Delivers First Full-Speed 3Gb Serial SCSI Hard Disk Drive Prototypes to HP
San Jose, CA, December 15, 2003 – Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), one of the world's leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, today announced that its small form factor (SFF), full-speed 3Gb/second serial attached SCSI (SAS) hard disk drive interface is being tested for next generation enterprise storage solutions by HP. The Fujitsu SAS interface leverages the recognized benefits of SCSI with the latest serial technology and Fujitsu expects SAS to become the enterprise I/O interface of choice for the new 2.5" small form factor enterprise hard disk drives. HP's testing of Fujitsu's 3Gb/second SAS interface in enterprise solutions is intended to take advantage of reduced form factor hard disk drives and the increased performance associated with serial attached SCSI.

- Fujitsu Announces Record Hard Disk Drive Sales And Market Growth
San Jose, CA, October 29, 2003 – Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), one of the world's leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, today announced unprecedented enterprise and mobile market growth demonstrating its strength and leadership in the hard disk drive industry. Fujitsu increased worldwide enterprise hard disk drive shipments to over 1.2M units, a 78% increase over the previous quarter 2Q03 (CY) and a 47% increase compared to the same quarter last year. Fujitsu also announced worldwide record shipment growth in the mobile hard disk drive market increasing drive shipments to 2.0M units, a 19% increase over the previous quarter 2Q03 (CY). That percentage represents a 90% increase in the number of units shipped compared to the same quarter last year.

(FCPA), one of the world's leading suppliers of hard drives and computer peripherals, announced today that it grew its markets share in both the enterprise and mobile hard disk drive markets according to data released by IDC. Fujitsu achieved 23% enterprise market share in the fourth quarter--a 3% increase from the third quarter of 2002 and a 41% increase in terms of units shipped--continuing its presence as the number two enterprise HDD supplier in the world ahead of Maxtor and IBM/Hitachi. Fujitsu also announced sequential mobile hard drive growth for the second straight quarter, ending 2002 with 13% of the market and a 16% increase in the number of units shipped compared to the previous quarter.
