Fujitsu Introduces World's Most Advanced Full Disk Encryption Technology for Laptop Hard Disk Drive Data Protection

Sunnyvale, CA, April 21, 2008 – Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a leading supplier of innovative computer products including hard disk drives, peripherals and biometric security solutions, today announced full disk encryption (FDE) for its 2.5" 7,200RPM SATA hard disk drive (HDD) line-up with up to 320GB¹, offering the industry’s highest security standard for data at rest. The Fujitsu MHZ2 CJ series is the first HDD in the world to support the hardware-based AES-256 bit encryption standard, enabling the HDD to provide the strongest data protection from unauthorized access by setting a password. Fujitsu’s line of highly reliable and efficient hard disk drives now includes an HDD that combines maximum data security features with high performance, resulting in an ideal computing environment.

Fujitsu Develops Optical Element for Thermal Assisted Magnetic Recording

During the quarter Fujitsu shipped 4.45M mobile units, a 71% increase over the same quarter last year (Q2CY04). Fujitsu also maintained its position as the second largest supplier in the enterprise hard disk drive market, increasing shipments to 1.54M units, a 28% increase as compared to the same quarter last year.

Fujitsu Posts Record Mobile Hard Disk Drive Shipments and Grows Enterprise Sequentually

San Jose, CA, August 3, 2004 – Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), one of the world"s leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, today announced that it significantly increased its hard disk drive market presence in the second calendar quarter 2004.  Fujitsu increased its mobile hard disk drive volume to 2.6M units, a 5% increase over the previous quarter 1Q04 (CY) and a 57% increase compared to the same quarter last year.  In the enterprise hard disk drive market, Fujitsu increased shipments to 1.2M units, a 27% increase over the previous quarter 1Q04 (CY) and a 78% increase compared to the same quarter last year.

Fujitsu Demonstrates Serial Attached SCSI and Serial ATA Interoperability at SAS Plugfest

San Jose, CA, July 20, 2004 – Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), one of the world's leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, today announced successful interoperability testing of its small form factor (SFF) Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and 2.5" Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drives.  The interoperability testing was conducted during the SAS plugfest conducted the week of June 21, 2004 in the Interoperability Lab at the University of New Hampshire.  Fujitsu was the only manufacturer able to demonstrate both SAS and SATA interoperability with its own SFF SAS and 2.5" SATA hard disk drives.
