The MAS series of hard drives combine numerous, innovative Fujitsu technologies to deliver industry-leading performance and
reliability. Our seventh-generation Giant Magneto-Resistive (GMR) head technology increases areal density, so MAS drives can
achieve capacities up to 73.5 GB using fewer platters. A super-fast 15,000-RPM rotational speed lowers average seek time to
3.3 ms, single-track seek time to 0.3 ms, and average rotational latency to 2.0 ms. To improve response time in high-load,
multitasking applications, the MAS series features an 8-MB, 32-bit-wide data cache and a dual-processor architecture. Acceleration
Feed Forward, a method of canceling out rotational vibrations and shocks, also helps improve drive performance. And to make
MAS drives quieter, we’ve incorporated fluid dynamic bearings (FDBs).
Both Ultra320 SCSI and Fibre Channel accommodate data transfer rates of up to 118.2 MB/s. They also feature an outstanding 1,200,000-hour MTBF rating and are covered by a five-year Limited Warranty. As a result, MAS series hard drives are ideal for workstations, network file servers, and enterprise servers in demanding applications, such as digital audio/video, financial, POS, and reservations systems.
