Fujitsu Announces Alliance with System Design Advantage for Warehouse and Repair Services
New warehouse facility to improve efficiency of repair service process
Frisco, TX, January 14, 2008 — Fujitsu Transactions Solutions Inc. today announced a new agreement whereby System Design Advantage will provide warehouse facilities, inventory management, repair and logistic services for Fujitsu product parts handling and repair processes.
Fujitsu currently operates a warehouse facility in Coppell, TX, and uses several third-party repair service vendors, including System Design Advantage. As a result of the new agreement, Fujitsu will relocate its logistics warehouse from the current facility to a new consolidated warehouse and repair center located in Columbus, OH, managed by System Design Advantage. Fujitsu is also consolidating most of its part repair service to System Design Advantage.
"By locating the warehouse and repair facilities in the same building, we will reduce the number of times a part is physically moved or shipped, which significantly reduces the turnaround time for part repairs and increases the inventory available for field engineers and service calls," said Bill Witte, senior vice president, product operations and managed services. "We selected System Design Advantage based on their proven high quality of service and look forward to building upon our successful relationship."
"Fujitsu has an excellent understanding of the correlation between a closed loop logistic solution and overall business performance," said Jim Sahli, founder and CEO of SDA. "The team recognizes the immense value to be gained by integrating repair, inventory and logistic infrastructures. We are excited to work with them on this strategic initiative to accelerate sustainable service improvements and savings across the enterprise."
The transition to the new facility in Columbus will begin in late February and will be completed by April 14, 2008.
