Fujitsu ATMs Receive "Visa Approved PED" and Canadian Interac® Certification to Protect Cardholder PINs
Frisco, TX, June 14, 2005 — Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. has received notice that its Series 8000, 7000AP and 7000 ATM keyboards meet the encrypted pin pad (EPP) standards established by Visa International and the Ontario, Canada-based Interac® Association.
A payment card industry-recognized independent laboratory has tested the Fujitsu ATMs and certified the devices' compliance to Visa's personal identification number (PIN) entry device security requirement. Visa has approved and posted the keyboards as such on their website at http://international.visa.com/fb/vendors/pin/pedapprovallist.jsp. A similar test was conducted by a laboratory in Canada for Interac.
As a result of meeting both standards, owners of Fujitsu Series 8000, 7000AP and 7000 ATMs can be assured that PIN data is properly encrypted and protected from attack.
