Fujitsu Introduces TeamPoS 2000 S Point-of-Sale System

Offering Provides Streamlined, Entry-level POS System for Retailers

New York, NY, January 17, 2005 — Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. today introduced the TeamPoS 2000 S, an affordable, entry-level point-of-sale (POS) system for retailers. The product will be available for delivery in April; it is being demonstrated at the NRF 94th Annual Conference and Expo, Jan. 16-19, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York.

Part of the Fujitsu TeamPoS product line, the new TeamPoS 2000 S is designed for retailers with limited configuration requirements who still want a purpose-built POS system with the power and flexibility of Fujitsu's fully configured TeamPoS 2000. The new model provides retailers with a cost-effective alternative that integrates with a variety of standard peripherals and controllers; it features "no tools required" serviceability to minimize downtime.

"Fujitsu's goal is to provide relentless cost reduction for retailers through technology, and the TeamPoS 2000 S offers a lower cost starting point for those who want a compact, retail-hardened system," said Cathy Boss-Fessel, director of retail and channel marketing at Fujitsu. "The system is equipped with all the essential technology needed to run POS functions while maintaining low initial and ongoing cost for the retailer."

The TeamPoS 2000 S is designed for fast and easy maintenance. Replacing any major hardware component takes less than three minutes, to ensure maximum uptime. The unit's space-saving design adapts easily to a variety of configurations and is ideal for general merchandisers, grocery or specialty retailers who have limited space.

The TeamPoS 2000 S features:

  • Compact chassis with standard TeamPoS 2000 power supply unit
  • Intel Celeron 850MHz processor
  • 40GB hard disk
  • 128MB ECC memory
  • Two USB (1.1) ports (non-powered)
  • Intel 10/100 Ethernet interface
