Saba's Western Wear Taps Fujitsu and Computer Dynamics For New POS Systems Chain-wide
Technologies to Include Fujitsu TeamPoS 2000 M and Computer Dynamics' Retail GlobalSUITE
New York, NY and Scottsdale, AZ, January 17, 2005 — Saba's Western Wear has selected Fujitsu TeamPoS 2000 M POS terminals and the GlobalSUITE of retail solutions from Computer Dynamics, Inc. (CDI) to outfit all of its specialty western-wear stores in the southwestern U.S. As a value-added reseller for Fujitsu retail products, CDI will provide all point-of-sale hardware, software and services to Saba's. Fujitsu GlobalSTORE is a key element of CDI's GlobalSUITE.
The announcement was made at the NRF 94th Annual Conference and Expo, Jan. 16-19, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York.
Family-owned since 1927, Saba's Western Wear is the oldest and one of the most successful western wear chains in the southwestern United States. Saba's will begin piloting the CDI and Fujitsu solutions in one of its Scottsdale locations this month.
"The CDI team brings the products, service and experience that Saba's needs to continue to succeed well into the future," said Mark Saba, chairman of the board for Saba's. "We are excited to implement such powerful systems and fully expect that there will be an immediate impact and clear-cut return on our investment."
The implementation of CDI's GlobalSUITE of products will include:
- GlobalSTORE.cdi -- Incorporating Fujitsu's GlobalSTORE framework, a powerful POS and cash management solution designed to speed up transaction times, increase sales and improve customer service.
- GlobalOUTREACH -- A customer relationship management program designed by CDI to improve customer loyalty and increase sales.
- GlobalRETURNS -- A returns management system built to improve customer service and reduce fraud.
- GlobalSELLING -- A cross-selling system designed to increase sales through using the power of suggestion.
- GlobalPROMO -- A promotion management tool designed to create and analyze the more than 350 discounts and promotions available in GlobalSTORE.cdi
Saba's also chose the Fujitsu TeamPoS 2000 M because of its reliability, scalability and serviceability. The TeamPoS 2000 M is one of the first retail point-of-sale systems to incorporate the Intel Pentium M processor. The Intel Pentium M processor, along with other unique design features, helps to reduce total cost of ownership.
"We are excited to work with Saba's and are looking forward to partnering with them for many years to come," said Hank Szopinski, president of Computer Dynamics, Inc. "We are pleased that they have selected CDI and we are excited that they will be implementing our entire GlobalSUITE of POS products."
Saba's, Arizona's Original Western Store, has been a southwest and a family tradition for 78 years. It was in 1927 that founder David Saba Sr. opened the first store. At that time in Arizona, coyotes roamed freely and customers rode up on horses. Each Saba's store carries a wide selection of hats, boots and clothing for men, women and children. Saba's selection varies from exotic, traditional, practical and contemporary to new and exciting styles. For more information on Saba's, visit www.sabaswesternwear.com.
