Naurtech Now Offers Fujitsu MobileReady Solution
Naurtech CETerm and Fujitsu iPAD Combine to Optimize Mobile Computing Performance for Retailers
Issaquah, WA, October 19, 2004 — Naurtech Corp. announced today that it has successfully ported its CETerm Terminal Emulation and ADC Browser smart client to Fujitsu's iPAD mobile platform, creating a powerful Fujitsu MobileReady solution that will give retailers a seamless, cost-effective approach to integrating and implementing hardware and software for wireless retail use.
"Fujitsu's versatile iPAD mobile computers are the ideal platform for CETerm," said Pankaj Nauriyal of Naurtech, based in Issaquah, Wash. "Designed for wireless, networked applications, Fujitsu iPADs are easy for mobile workers to learn because they support the familiar Windows CE environment, and their versatility makes them easily adaptable to a wide variety of uses. iPAD combined with CETerm offers retailers an unbeatable, optimized mobile solution."
According to IDC, a global industry research firm, handheld devices retain strong momentum, even though the U.S. economy has slowed. It estimates that worldwide shipments will increase at a compound annual growth rate of 39 percent from 13.6 million in 2000 to 70.9 million by 2005, with the U.S. market representing the largest opportunity for handheld device vendors.
CETerm is a high performance terminal emulation (3270, 5250, VT) and web browser smart client for Windows CE handheld devices. With rich functionality such as barcode scanning, mobile printing, device lock down, key remapping and integrated HTML browser support, it is the new standard within the industry for mobile data collection solutions. "Device tailored" versions of CETerm are available for the complete family of Fujitsu mobile solutions based on Windows CE.
The Fujitsu iPAD handheld device wirelessly empowers mobile workers to serve their customers better. The PDA-size iPAD combines devices retailers use throughout the store - scanner, magnetic-card reader and VoIP phone capability - to provide a complete, wireless retail appliance. This lightweight, rugged device also gives workers real-time access to corporate systems, in-store retail or a host of other applications.
"The partnership with Naurtech brings a new element to Fujitsu's mobile solutions that will enable retailers to leverage their legacy applications while transitioning to new browser-based technology," said Stuart Britland, head of indirect channels for Fujitsu. "We are excited about the new dimension Naurtech brings to Fujitsu as we continue to deliver a broader spectrum of retail based solutions."
CETerm is available immediately from Naurtech Corp.
