Store managers can deploy smart data-mining and analytics to reduce shrink
Chicago, IL, May 02, 2004 — StoreNext Retail Technologies LLC and Trax Retail Solutions Inc. have teamed up to offer a new profit optimization and loss prevention application for independent grocers via the StoreNext Connected Services(tm) portfolio. ShrinkTrax(r) for POS in the grocery industry's leading loss prevention solution that helps prevent cashier theft and errors by identifying and modifying behaviors of fraudulent or inefficient cashiers.
The announcement was made at the 2004 FMI Show at McCormick Place in Chicago, May 2-4.
"With the Connected ShrinkTrax application, independent grocers and small chains have a proven, proactive method to prevent store losses and improve the bottom line," said Ray Carlin, president and CEO of Plano, Texas-based StoreNext. "In addition to identifying employees who are dishonest or underperforming, ShrinkTrax also helps grocers raise their customer service level and checkout efficiency."
Available immediately, Connected ShrinkTrax is available for both store- and enterprise-level cashier performance monitoring. The store-level solution includes the industry's only plain-English Cashier Narrative reports, specialized weekly reports for shrink identification, productivity management and customer service analysis, coupon redemption and refund analysis, and detailed automatic analysis and targeting of more than 40 POS transaction categories.
The enterprise solution includes all capabilities in the store solution plus multi-store enterprise-level reporting, and an advanced data mining tool called DM2. DM2's data mining solution applies expert data analytics and more than 1,600 "expert rules" to automatically pinpoint otherwise undetectable losses and sales data abnormalities.
"Connected ShrinkTrax is a great offering to the independent grocery community. For over 15 years we have served the independent grocer and are very proud to partner with StoreNext. Only ShrinkTrax automatically tracks each cashier's patterns, trends and behaviors to optimize their performance and cut losses associated with dishonesty, fraud, errors and inefficiency," said Larry Miller, president of Trax. "This represents a major step forward for independent grocers and small chains, who now have access to the same type of loss prevention technology used by large national retailers at a fraction of the cost through StoreNext's Connected Services model."
