Fujitsu to Demonstrate Innovation at Work at GLOBALCOMM™ 2006 in Chicago

Richardson, TX, May 31, 2006 — Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., a leading supplier of IT and wireline/wireless networking solutions, will be demonstrating and discussing "Innovation at Work" at the upcoming GLOBALCOMM™ 2006 conference and exhibition in Chicago. In addition to the Fujitsu booth (No. 10031) where all solutions will be discussed, Fujitsu will also discuss its outside plant solutions within their Outside Plant (OSP) EXPO 2006 booth (No. 75005). Fujitsu employees are also featured speakers in a panel discussion in the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) booth (No. 37085). For more information about these events, please visit http://www.globalcomm2006.com or http://www.ospmag.com/expo.

Main Fujitsu Exhibit Details (Booth No. 10031)
Fujitsu will be demonstrating its entire portfolio of solutions in its main booth, including:

  • Innovation for Broadband Access, which features a live demonstration of the new FLASHWAVE® 6100 GPON platform announced yesterday. This innovative system leverages global Fujitsu broadband access expertise to provide industry-leading channel capacity, seamless inter-working with legacy networks and packet infrastructure, and the ability to inexpensively respond to future bandwidth requirements without having to install new customer premises equipment (CPE).
  • Innovation for Multiservice Networks, which allows carriers to offer triple-play voice, video and data services using extensions of their existing SONET network, dramatically lowering the cost and time required to deliver these highly-anticipated services.
  • Innovation for Wireless Data, which includes new WiMAX and Wi-Fi mesh products and associated professional service solutions, as well as wireless backhaul solutions that illustrate the benefits and cost savings to wireless operators of building out their own fiber optic network backbone.
  • Innovation for Optical Networks, which uses Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS) enabled Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) and Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) control plane intelligence in the core, and modular solutions with full G.709 optical management in the metro/edge, to serve every need from Enterprise data to Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) residential triple-play.
  • Innovation for Enterprise Services, which highlights the wide variety of technologies that Fujitsu offers to the Enterprise market, including Carrier Ethernet Aggregation, Ethernet over SONET (EoS), Ethernet over Wavelength Division Multiplexing (EoDWDM) and Ethernet over Copper (EoC) solutions. Storage Area Networking (SAN) transport, server and storage switching, and secure high-quality video streaming are some of the unique applications that Fujitsu can offer to Enterprise customers.
  • Innovation for Biometric Solutions, including the PalmSecure™ palm vein authentication device from Fujitsu Computer Products of America. This highly secure and innovative alternative to other biometric devices features an integrated optical system that generates an image of a palm vein pattern without physical contact, digitizes the image, and stores the unique pattern as a registered template.
  • Innovation for 10Gb Ethernet Switching, which features the XG700 and XG1200 10Gb Ethernet switches from Fujitsu Computer Products of America. These devices offer ultra low latency, a compact form factor, a flexible network interface, and extremely low power requirements to allow IT professionals to build powerful and efficient systems with high port densities.
  • Innovation for Internet Optimization, including advanced demonstrations of the Fujitsu Trusted Network Gateway from Fujitsu Computer Products of America. This Internet optimizer provides high-speed communications using hardware-based, industry-standard IPsec security, low power consumption and a flexible architecture for applications such as secure remote backup and archival, data mirroring and high quality video streaming.
  • Innovation for Network Support, which describes how Fujitsu Network Life Cycle Services can be used by carriers to support every phase of their network. Fujitsu has extensive experience in providing leading-edge solutions within multi-vendor and multi-technology networks, which help them simplify the deployment, upgrade, expansion, and migration of networks for a seamless systems integration experience.
  • Innovation for Network Management, which will show how customers can quickly and easily turn-up voice, video, data and storage services from a single location with the Fujitsu NETSMART® 1500 Element Management System (EMS). The NETSMART 1500 EMS supports all Fujitsu FLM and FLASHWAVE products, providing a common interface for management and provisioning of a unified Fujitsu access and transport network.

OSP EXPO Exhibit Details (Booth No. 75005)
Fujitsu will also have a presence at OSP EXPO 2006, which will feature the latest OSP communications solutions from network convergence to end-user deployment. Fujitsu will demonstrate innovation for OSP solutions, including end-to-end site construction and inspection services, plus custom indoor/outdoor cabinet and system integration solutions.

Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) Exhibit Details (Booth No. 37085)
Manjuel Robinson, market development manager at Fujitsu Network Communications, will participate in the MEF panel session titled, "Ethernet Transport: WDM, Cellular Backhaul, SONET/SDH." The panel will discuss the relationship of these technologies to MEF-defined carrier-class Ethernet services. Sam Lisle, market development director at Fujitsu Network Communications, will chair this exciting panel discussion.
