Fujitsu to Discuss “New Models of Optical Networking” at Heavy Reading’s Links 2005 Executive Summit™
Richardson, TX, November 7, 2005 — Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., a leading supplier of IT and wireline/wireless networking solutions, is a platinum sponsor of Heavy Reading’s Links 2005 Executive Summit™, which is being held this week at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort & Spa in California. Full details about the event can be found at http://www.lightreading.com/live/event_information.asp?survey_id=113
Sam Lisle, director of market development at Fujitsu Network Communications, will present the Fujitsu perspective on ideal optical networking models while participating in a panel session entitled, “The New Models of Optical Networking”. This dynamic session will describe how today’s new optical networking solutions, which include Passive Optical Networking (PON) devices in the access network, Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexers (ROADMs) in the metro network, and new modes of transport such as Carrier Ethernet, are changing the rules under which networks are built. These new solutions take advantage of developments in photonic integration, tunable optics and amplification, Wavelength Selective Switching (WSS), and automated software control planes to create flexible optical platforms for a variety of different applications and customers. This session will explore this market in detail, and draw upon recent Heavy Reading research to chart a course for optical networks through the rest of this decade.
