Fujitsu Opens New Distribution Sales Channel with Walker & Associates

Walker & Associates becomes the Latest Distributor for the FLASHWAVE® 4000 MSPP Product Portfolio

Richardson, TX, November 8, 2004 — Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., a leading supplier of IT, wireline and wireless networking solutions, announced today that it has signed a non-exclusive agreement with Walker & Associates, a leading woman-owned telecommunications equipment distributor, to sell the Fujitsu FLASHWAVE® 4000 Multi-Service Provisioning Platforms (MSPPs) to independent telecommunications service providers, government agencies, utilities, transportation providers and major system integrators.

Fujitsu has gained tremendous success and experience selling its market-leading telecom solutions to service providers across North America. Boasting one of the largest installed bases of optical transport systems with more than 300,000 network elements deployed, Fujitsu is well positioned to extend this leadership across all networks. Similarly, for more than 30 years, Walker & Associates has developed long-standing relationships with many carriers, government agencies and major system integrators.

With our new agreement with Walker & Associates, the portfolio will also be well positioned for sales to governments, transportation systems and smaller network providers. The platforms are also on the Rural Utility Service (RUS) list of materials, which means that rural service providers can purchase and deploy these platforms with funds obtained through low-interest RUS loans. Our RUS certification makes it possible for all carriers, regardless of their size or footprint, to keep their costs down and foster increased competition with advanced services offered by larger regional and national carriers.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Walker & Associates will distribute the FLASHWAVE 4010 Remote SONET Extension Device, FLASHWAVE 4020 Compact Optical Ethernet Module, FLASHWAVE 4100 Multiservice Optical Access Platform, FLASHWAVE 4300 Multiservice Access Ring Aggregation Platform and the FLASHWAVE 4500 Multiservice Optical Core Transport Platform. These next-generation, carrier-class MSPPs combine extensive interface capacity and traffic grooming capabilities with advanced data transport functionality, enabling a wide range of solutions for multiservice access and transport applications.
