Fujitsu Outlines Benefits of 10-Gigabit Ethernet in ATCA Applications, Advanced Enterprise and Network Systems

Sunnyvale, California, January 11, 2006 — Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) has issued a new technical paper detailing the use of its 10-Gigabit Ethernet switching technology for applications based on the Advanced Mezzanine Cards (AMC) and the underlying Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (ATCA), such as wireless backhaul, wireless base stations, IPTV, and routers.

Entitled "10-Gigabit Ethernet Switch Applications in ATCA," the paper describes the telecom market's move to adopt the AMC 2.0 /ATCA standard and the ability of 10-Gigabit Ethernet switching technology to deliver the bandwidth needed to eliminate bottlenecks and enable a new series of resilient, robust, and cost-efficient applications.
