IDM Business Model, Advanced Design and Technology Processes Detailed in New White Paper from Fujitsu

Describes Complete Capability Portfolio for 300mm, 90nm Custom Silicon

Sunnyvale, CA, April 18, 2005 — Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) today issued a paper detailing its Integrated Device Manufacturing (IDM) capabilities, global leadership in sub-100nm process technology, and broad spectrum of ASIC technologies.

The paper, which is entitled “Fujitsu Capability Portfolio for Custom Silicon: The Best Choice for a 300mm, 90nm Foundry is Fujitsu,” details the IDM engagement model for Fujitsu and its customers, and discusses the Technology, Design and Applications Platforms that provide a full range of solutions for any customer based on specific requirements.

The paper also details the company’s technological advantages including its advanced process technology roadmap to 65nm and beyond, along with Fujitsu’s expertise in delivering low-power, high-performance ASIC and ASSP products. There are sections on Fujitsu’s industry-leading IP portfolio and advanced packaging options.

Also included is a full update about Fujitsu’s advanced technology facility at Mie, Japan, which is using 90nm technologies in 300mm wafers. The factory started production in April, with full production scheduled for September 2005. Foundry benchmarks at 90nm indicate that the Fujitsu process is 25 percent faster, using only 75 percent of the active power and 21 percent of the standby power, when compared with other foundry technologies

“Fujitsu has the expertise, experience and commitment to deliver an optimal set of technologies and services based on specific customer requirements, using the IDM business engagement model,” said Keith Horn, senior vice president of sales and marketing for FMA. “We are developing excellent business partnerships worldwide with companies that share our vision, and this paper describes the features and benefits in detail.”
