Fujitsu, Signature Sponsor at Broadband Wireless World, to Announce New WiMAX-compliant SoC

Sunnyvale, CA, February 24, 2005 — Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) is the Signature Sponsor for the seventh annual Broadband Wireless World, the leading broadband wireless industry conference, scheduled for April 21-22 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Keith Horn, FMA's senior vice president of marketing and sales, will present the conference's keynote address, "WiMAX – a Quantum Leap Forward in Broadband Wireless Communications." Horn, who has worked at Fujitsu for more than a decade in marketing and sales positions in the U.S., U.K., and Germany, is responsible for marketing all FMA products and services.

The keynote is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., April 21, in the Caesars Palace Events Center. Immediately following, FMA and other leading WiMAX deployment advocates will hold a keynote panel discussion entitled "WiMAX - The Industry's Perspective." George Wu, director of marketing for FMA, will be a member of the panel, which is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.

Fujitsu will also announce its new WiMAX-compliant baseband system-on-chip (SoC), developed to enable system equipment suppliers to bring WiMAX-certified products to market this year. Reza Golshan, FMA's director of System ASIC development who is managing the WiMAX SoC implementation, will present "System-on-Chip Implementation for WiMAX Broadband Wireless Access: Technical Overview and Architectural Requirements" on April 22, in Track I Program from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
