Fujitsu to Demonstrate Fingerprint Sensor ICs at Biometrics Consortium, Sept. 20-22

MBF200 Single Touch Sensor and MBF310 Sweep Sensor™ on Display at Booth 207

Arlington, VA, September 20, 2004 — Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) will demonstrate its award-winning fingerprint sensor technology at the annual Biometrics Consortium at the Hyatt Hotel, Crystal City, in Arlington, Virginia. The MBF200 single touch fingerprint sensor and the MBF310 Sweep Sensor™ ICs from Fujitsu Microelectronics America will be featured at booth 207 during exhibit hours September 20 through 22.

The MBF200 single touch sensor and MBF310 Sweep Sensor ICs meet government resolution requirements of 500-dpi 8-bit grayscale. These fingerprint sensors with associated development kits give customers the capability to quickly and cost-effectively design a wide range of security and authentication systems. Several of these solutions will be demonstrated at the booth. FMA is working in close partnership with software and hardware industry leaders to develop robust, reliable, cost-effective applications.

At the consortium, FMA will announce its collaboration with Datastrip Corporation on Datastrip’s DSVII® -SC portable smart card reader, which is built using the MBF200 single touch sensor IC. The DSVII®-SC is a compact, handheld WindowsCE.NET unit that incorporates a contact and contactless smart card reader with the MBF200, which is designed to deliver clear 500-dots-per-inch images by providing instant matching to a biometric template.

"The DSVII®-SC is ideal for a broad range of verification applications," said Mike Chaudoin, senior marketing manager of FMA’s Biometric Products Group. "Due to its size, speed, and versatility, this impressive new handheld system is appropriate for virtually any mobile identity verification situation. The Fujitsu MBF200 single-touch sensor has played a key role in the success of Datastrip’s exciting design."
