Fujitsu Microelectronics America to Feature Biometric Sensor ICs and Solutions, at Annual CTST in Washington, D.C., April 26-29

Washington, D.C., April 26, 2004 — Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) will demonstrate its complete family of leading-edge biometric sensor ICs, including fully assembled modules and boards, at the annual CTST Conference April 26-29 in Washington, D.C.

Fujitsu's MBF200 single-touch sensor and MBF310 Sweep SensorTM ICs will be demonstrated at booth 247 at the Washington Convention Center. An array of products using these devices will also be demonstrated, including the SPF200-USB, which mounts an MBF200 touch sensor on a USB interface board for quick integration into PC-based systems and handheld devices. The Fujitsu biosensors deliver a high-quality, 500-dpi image that meets the image quality requirements for capturing fingerprint images for today's requirements in government ID applications, transportation security systems, medical systems, and improved financial transaction security, among other applications.

The MBF200 touch sensor runs on 3.3V to 5V with typical power requirements of 20 mA, making it an excellent choice for handheld fingerprint image acquisition devices. The image area is 256 x 300 pixels. The MBF310 Sweep Sensor is designed for computing, communications and other applications that require personal security. The MBF310 operates on voltages of 2.7V to 3.3V, with power requirements of 12mA, typical. The image area is 8 x 218 pixels. Each sensor is available in production volumes.
