Fujitsu Microelectronics Demonstrates New 10Gbps Ethernet Switch IC At Gigabit Ethernet Conference September 8-10 in Orlando

Also presenting “Gigabit to the desktop / gigabit ethernet and beyond᾿ on september 9 at 3 p.m. at GEC pavilion

Sunnyvale, CA, September 3, 2003 — Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) will present demonstrations of its industry’s first single-chip 10Gbps Ethernet switch IC at the annual Gigabit Ethernet Conference (GEC), September 8-10, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. This year’s GEC is held as a part of National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (NFOEC).

FMA will provide a live demonstration of 10Gbps switch chip and information about its 10G technology at kiosk 101 on the conference floor.

The company will also provide technical details and market perspective on the technology in a presentation by Asif Hazarika, FMA’s senior system architect, on September 9 beginning at 3 PM in the Gigabit Ethernet Pavilion, booth 1430, presentation area number 1.

Mr. Hazarika’s talk, entitled “Gigabit to the Desktop / Gigabit Ethernet and Beyond,᾿ will discuss the 12-Port 10Gbps Ethernet chip and how it can support the growth of 1Gbps Ethernet to the desktop and servers. He will also review how the new IC can reduce total cost of ownership of 10Gbps switches for enterprise networks, storage networks and server systems.

FMA introduced its 10Gbps Ethernet switch IC in June and samples are available now. The technology enables system designers to develop compact and less expensive switches to replace bulky and expensive switches
