Fujitsu Microelectronics America to Provide Two Major Presentations at Wireless Systems Design Conference and Expo in San Jose February 26
Focus on SoC wireless technology and the future of high-speed wireless
San Jose, CA, February 19, 2003 — Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA), an industry leader in system-on-chip (SoC) technology for the wireless network market, will provide two comprehensive presentations at the annual Wireless Systems Design Conference and Expo at the San Jose Convention Center on February 26th.
Aditya Agrawal, a manager at FMA’s Wireless SoC group, will present “SoC Design Challenges for Wireless Communications and Consumer Products᾿ at 10:30 a.m. on February 26th. The presentation will focus on the basic design criteria and decision-making in wireless product design, including processor selection, mixed signal, software development, packaging and other issues. Agrawal will use the example of a wireless SoC design FMA developed with a North American customer.
Agrawal will also deliver a talk entitled “The Future of High-Speed Wireless᾿ at 1:30 p.m. that day. This presentation will focus on broadband and wireless LAN standards, the recent standardization of IEEE 802.16a, the emergence of interoperability and certification in conjunction with standardization as opposed to being an afterthought (WiMAX), and a reference design for an 802.16a based wireless metropolitan area network.
Agrawal is responsible for Bluetooth, wireless LAN and 802.16a based wireless MAN products at FMA. He is an active member of the IEEE 802.16a standards committee and a board member of WiMAX. In a prior role in Fujitsu, Agrawal managed the design and development of mixed signal LSIs. Before joining Fujitsu in 1997, he worked at Level One Communications and Texas Instruments.
The Wireless Systems Design Conference and Expo covers technology pertaining to the traditional wireless staple – the cell phone – along with a variety of other topics contained under the wireless umbrella, including base stations, software-defined radios, antennas, digital signal processors and the wireless Internet as they pertain to applications such as medical and automotive.
