Fujitsu Microelectronics to Exhibit Wide Variety of MCUs for Automotive, Consumer, Communications Applications at Annual Embedded Systems Conference in Chicago
8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit microcontrollers at booth 200
Chicago, IL, July 9, 2001 — Fujitsu Microelectronics, Inc (FMI), one of the industry leaders in microcontroller technology, will exhibit a full set of 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit general purpose and application-specific microcontrollers (MCUs) at the Embedded Systems Conference in Chicago July 10-11.
Designed for automotive, industrial control, communications and consumer product applications, Fujitsu's MCUs combine low power and cost-efficiency in a broad selection of packaging options.
"The automotive industry increasingly demands microcontrollers for a wide variety of applications," said Sardar Haddad, marketing director of FMI's Embedded Processor Group. "Our product portfolio includes a wide variety of microcontrollers that provide the performance and features required for these established and emerging vehicle applications, and for new communications, computer and industrial designs."
For the automotive sector, Fujitsu provides 16- and 32-bit microcontrollers with a Controller Area Network (CAN) interface, flash memory, A/D converter and stepper motor control. These peripherals make the MCUs ideal for dashboard instrument panels, remote keyless entry, Global Positioning Systems (GPS) navigation, door locks, window controls, interior lighting, airbags, anti-lock brakes, air-conditioning and stereo systems.
The company's MCUs also support many applications in the consumer markets, including GPS, handheld devices, digital cameras, digital TVs, PDAs and DVDs. In the growing communications sector, Fujitsu MCUs are now found in cellular phones, pagers, cordless phones, satellite receivers, set-top boxes and modems.
The low-end and mid-range F2MC MCUs are also designed into PC peripherals such as printers, keyboards, video-conferencing systems, scanners and storage sub-systems. In the industrial-control market, these microcontrollers are in proximity sensors, production line checkers, barcode scanners and security systems.
