Fujitsu Announces 200GB¹ 2.5" 5400 RPM SATA Hard Disk Drive with Rotational Vibration Compensation
Designed for 24x7 Operation For Industrial and Enterprise Applications
Sunnyvale, CA, July 24, 2007 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., one of the world’s leading suppliers of innovative computer products, today announced the global launch of the MHY2200BS series mobile hard disk drives (HDDs). The industry-leading HDDs feature storage capacities up to 200GB, with a 5400RPM spindle speed, and features to address the adverse effects of rotational vibration for use in industrial and enterprise applications that demand high performance under 24x7 operation. The MHY2200BS series will begin shipping next month.
Fujitsu began building 24x7 operation 2.5” ATA HDDs in 2003, and is therefore able to utilize its vast experience and innovative technology in introducing its new MHY2200BS series designed to meet the growing demand of business critical and industrial applications. Fujitsu’s built-in advanced rotational vibration compensation technology anticipates vibration disturbances, and counteracts them to maximize performance. Engineered using perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) technology, the 5400RPM 2.5” Serial ATA (SATA) drives serve a broad variety of industrial applications and business critical systems such as blade servers and telecommunication applications.
