Fujitsu to Exhibit Workgroup Scanners and PalmSecure™ Biometric Device for Medical Practitioners at HIMSS 2007
Sunnyvale, CA, February 21, 2007 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., one of the world’s leading suppliers of innovative computer products including hard disk drives, peripherals, document imaging scanners and biometric security solutions, today announced that it will showcase several of its award-winning scanning solutions and its PalmSecure™ biometric sensor at the 2007 HIMSS Conference at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center Feb. 25 – March 1 in New Orleans.
Attendees at HIMSS 2007 will have the opportunity to see live demonstrations of the Fujitsu PalmSecure sensor, a biometric authentication device that uses an individual’s palm vein pattern to verify a person’s identity, partner software solutions for PalmSecure, as well as a number of Fujitsu’s leading workgroup scanners.
The Fujitsu PalmSecure device uses the latest in biometric security technology, enabling an extremely high level of accuracy and reliability. In addition, its contactless interface is hygienic and non-invasive, thus promoting a high level of user acceptance and it is particularly suitable for the healthcare environment.
Fujitsu will also display the capabilities of several of its workgroup scanners including the fi-5120C, fi-5530C, fi-5650C and the fi-5900C. Fujitsu scanners are known for their outstanding paper handling, fast scan speeds, and competitive software bundles. In a healthcare environment, that functionality, when paired with bundled software such as the Adobe® Acrobat® 7.0 Standard, can expedite the check-in and record retrieval process, simplify records management, improve employee efficiency, save money and increase patient satisfaction.
