The Fujitsu ScanSnap S500 scanner is a double-sided color scanner that scans at speeds of up to 18 pages per minute (ppm) for single-sided documents and 36 images per minute (ipm) for double-sided documents. For the first time, the new ScanSnap scanning solution comes bundled with ABBYY FineReader® for the ScanSnap scanner, a custom-built Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software application based on ABBYY’s award-winning recognition technology. Using ABBYY FineReader for the ScanSnap scanner, users can convert documents into editable formats such as Word, Excel or PowerPoint, or save into one of three searchable Portable Document File (PDF) options, all with a push of a button.
