Fujitsu fi-5220C Workgroup Scanner Recognized as Better Buys for Business "Hot Pick"

Sunnyvale, CA, March 1, 2006 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a market leader in document imaging scanners and services, is proud to announce that its fi-5220C color, duplex workgroup scanner was selected by document imaging industry specialist, Better Buys for Business, as a "Hot Pick" in its annual Scan-to-File Guide. "Hot Picks" are new to market products recognized for their ability to deliver the highest level of performance while offering the greatest values for customers in a given price range.

With its release in November, the Fujitsu fi-5220C advanced the workgroup scanning segment by utilizing features and functionality previously found only in higher-end production models. The introduction of ultrasonic double feed detection provides outstanding paper handling by automatically detecting when two pages are simultaneously fed through the scanner. Additionally, embossed card scanning allows easy information capture of credit cards, insurance cards and other raised letter plastic identification through the automatic document feeder (ADF). The Fujitsu fi-5220C also offers best in class speed of 24 pages per minute (ppm) / 45 images per minute (ipm) at 300 dpi monochrome and grayscale, and 24 ppm / 24 ipm at 300 dpi full color. Other key features include:

• Larger auto de-skew "over scan" area to prevent lost data
• Hardware JPEG compression
• Dual Ultra SCSI and Hi-Speed USB interface
• Selectable white/black background for complete VRS support and improved thin-document scanning
• Auto page-size detection and 34" long document scanning
• Daily duty cycle of up to 1,000 pages per day
