Fujitsu to Showcase New Storage & Security Solutions at CMP XChange Tech Innovators Conference

Sunnyvale, CA, October 18, 2005 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., one of the world's leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, today announced that it will showcase the latest in Serial hard disk drives and biometric palm vein security technology at the CMP XChange Tech Innovators Conference in San Francisco, CA on October 19 - 21, 2005.

At the show Fujitsu will demonstrate the power and performance of several storage products, including the latest in 2.5" Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drive technology operating alongside enclosures developed by Fujitsu channel partners. Fujitsu has firmly established itself as one of the leading providers of small form factor (SFF) Serial hard disk drives delivering several first to market offerings. Most recently the company delivered its next generation 2.5" SATA MHV2120BH mobile hard disk drive boasting an impressive 120GB capacity.

Additionally Fujitsu will showcase its next-generation biometric security palm vein sensor, which leverages more than twenty years of industry leading image recognition and processing technology. The authentication device captures a person’s palm vein pattern and then verifies it against that individual’s pre-registered vein pattern. The results have an extremely high degree of accuracy with a false acceptance rate¹ of less than 0.00008%, while maintaining a false rejection rate of only 0.01%.
