Fujitsu to Demonstrate the Latest in SATA and SAS Hard Disk Drive Innovation at 2005 HP Technology Forum

Sunnyvale, CA, October 10, 2005 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., one of the world's leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, today announced that it will showcase the performance and interoperability of its Serial interface mobile and enterprise hard disk drives at the 2005 HP Technology Forum, held October 17-20 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.

At the forum, Fujitsu will demonstrate a number of enterprise storage systems that utilize some of the most advanced Serial ATA (SATA) mobile and Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) enterprise hard disk drives available today. The first will showcase Serial interoperability in a demo housing small form factor (SFF) SAS and 2.5" SATA hard disk drives to deliver customizable performance, capacity, power and cost offerings based on the individual users’ system requirements.

Fujitsu will also showcase a 1.7GB/s throughput demonstration utilizing sixteen Fujitsu small form factor (SFF) SAS hard disk drives. A third system will feature Fujitsu SATA hard disk drives operating in a tower with nearly five terabytes of storage capacity. These solutions let users increase hard disk drive density, increasing performance (input-output per second) and/or throughput (MB/s) while maintaining a minimal footprint.

The HP Technology Forum offers more than 400 technical training and breakout sessions, 200 hands-on workshops and a 12,000-square-foot demonstration area to enhance the user learning experience. Sessions will include timely topics such as Internet security, storage infrastructure, virtualization and blade solutions. Attendees also will have opportunities to share ideas and participate in one-on-one meetings.
