Fujitsu to Showcase Small Form Factor SAS and SATA Interoperability at Intel Developer Forum Fall 2005
San Jose, CA, August 15, 2005 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., one of the world’s leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, today announced that it will showcase the performance and flexibility of its Serial interface mobile and enterprise hard disk drives at the Intel Developer Forum Fall 2005 event, held August 23-25 at the Moscone South Convention Center in San Francisco, CA.
At the conference, Fujitsu will conduct live product demonstrations utilizing the latest in Serial ATA (SATA) mobile and Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) enterprise hard disk drive technology. The first of two demos will use Supermicro mobile-racks filled with sixteen Fujitsu small form factor (SFF) SAS hard disk drives and two LSI host bus adapters, offering incredible storage capacity with impressive data transfer speeds.
Fujitsu will also showcase Serial interoperability with AIC enclosures in a demo that utilizes eight SFF SAS hard disk drives and eight 2.5" SATA hard disk drives operating in separate enclosures. The adaptability of the Serial interface exponentially increases the options available to system integrators and solution providers by enabling interchangeable storage systems that improve performance, scalability, capacity, power, acoustics and cost.
