Fujitsu First to Deliver Volume Availability of 2.5" & 3.5" Serial Attached SCSI Hard Disk Drives

Fujitsu Continues to Set Technology Standards with the Best Performing Serial-Attached SCSI Hard Disk Drives

San Jose, CA, June 3, 2005 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., one of the world's leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, today announced volume availability of its 2.5" and 3.5" Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) hard disk drives to distribution partners.

Fujitsu delivered its 2.5" small form factor (SFF) SAS hard disk drives ahead of the competition with customer collaboration beginning in December 2003, leading to volume customer shipments in March 2005. The company was able to establish itself as the market leader due to early partnerships and development with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

"By delivering hard disk drives to the leading OEMs, we are one step closer to offering new storage systems that incorporate the size, cost and performance advantages of next generation Serial technology."

This announcement comes after Fujitsu began volume delivery of its 2.5" Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drives. Like the SATA hard disk drives, Fujitsu SAS hard disk drives are among the world's smallest, fastest and most efficient offerings. The 2.5" SAS hard disk drives are available in storage capacities of 36.7GB and 73.5GB at 10K RPM, a perfect combination for high-end, mission-critical applications residing on database servers, storage arrays, high performance computing systems, and rack optimized systems.

Fujitsu has also extended the benefits of SAS to 3.5" hard disk drives at 15K RPM, with capacities of up to 147GB.
