Fujitsu Vice President Lorne Wilson Recognized as a Channel Chief by CMP Media's CRN

For the Third Consecutive Year, Lorne Wilson is one of 50 Named to CRN’s Elite List

San Jose, CA, April 4, 2005 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., one of the world’s leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, today announced that Lorne Wilson, vice president, Channel Sales and Marketing, has been named a Channel Chief by CMP Media’s CRN, a publication that provides vital information for VARs and technology integrators. CRN Channel Chiefs are recognized as influential executives who consistently defend, promote and execute effective channel partner programs and strategies.

Lorne Wilson was recognized for his ongoing efforts in developing the Fujitsu channel program and advancing the hard disk drive industry as a whole. Over the past year, Fujitsu channel revenue for its enterprise and mobile hard disk drives has increased 73% due to its growing channel partner program. In 2004, Wilson helped drive adoption of the emerging Serial interface, specifically 2.5" Serial-ATA (SATA) and small form factor (SFF) Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS) technology, by offering a ‘time to market’ advantage through close relationships with solution providers.

"Effective channel executives can mobilize an army of Solution Providers to increase their sales efforts," said Dan Dignam, publisher of CRN. "Solution Providers are always looking for strong advocates, such as the 2005 ‘Channel Chiefs’, and will embrace them for potential partnerships and successful program advice."

This is the third consecutive year that CRN has developed the Channel Chief list. Top Channel Chiefs were chosen based on criteria including policy and program innovations made during the past year, the amount of revenue their company generated through partners, their willingness to speak out publicly on behalf of the channel, and the number of years they have dedicated to channel activities.

"During my years working in the channel, I have learned that the best way to achieve success is by spending as much time as possible with partners. Their insight is the key to establishing a successful business," said Wilson. "It is extremely gratifying that those efforts have been recognized by CRN again this year. Fujitsu has developed a strong channel network and I look forward to helping develop it even further in the coming year."
