Fujitsu Unveils Compact, High Speed Small Document & ID Card Scanner

New Fujitsu fi-60F Quickly Scans Insurance Cards, Credit Cards, Passports, Driver’s Licenses, Photographs & Other Important Small Documents for Retail & Busy Office Environments; Capable of 1-Second Scans

San Jose, CA, January 31, 2005 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a market leader in document imaging scanners and services, today introduced the Fujitsu fi-60F, a new color A6 small format ID card and small document scanner. The compact, light-weight Fujitsu fi-60F scanner is designed for busy office and retail environments who want to accurately scan identification cards, insurance cards, driver’s licenses, checks, credit cards, passports, photographs and other forms of identification.

The new Fujitsu fi-60F color A6 scanner, weighing in at only 2 pounds, improves user productivity with fast, 1-second scanning (at 200 dpi) and comes equipped with Hi-Speed USB connectivity for increased performance and easy installation. Additionally, its "coverless" scanning eliminates the repetitive task of opening and closing the cover before and after each scan. Users simply place documents on the flatbed and scan – it’s that easy. Furthermore, the Fujitsu fi-60F auto-deskew and auto-cropping functions optimize scan size and quality, conserving storage resources and properly orienting scans regardless of how they are placed on the flatbed. The compact A6 scanner, measures 1.6" x 9.2" x 5.7", includes TWAIN and ISIS® drivers and ScandAll 21™, a software which simplifies integration and boosts productivity right from the start.

When only the highest quality scans will suffice, the Fujitsu fi-60F solution delivers clean, crisp scans up to 5.83" x 4.13" in color, grayscale, and monochrome with true 600 dpi optical resolution. However, when time is critical, users can scan documents at 200 dpi in monochrome or 8-bit grayscale in just 1- second and 24-bit color scans at 200 dpi take just 1.7 seconds. The Fujitsu scanner also comes bundled with a trial version of SoftIPC Image enhancement software.
