Fujitsu Improves DynaMO® 1300 Pocket Removable Storage Drive with Data Encryption Technology

Secure Magneto-Optical Disk Storage for Backup and Archival Now Available for only $199

San Jose, CA, January 03, 2005 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), a leading provider of removable storage solutions, today announced that its DynaMO® 1300 Pocket Magneto-Optical (MO) drive, a compact and lightweight drive for portable data backup and file storage, will now offer users the ability to encrypt their data, providing secure password-protected data storage. CES attendees can view the low-cost Fujitsu DynaMO 1300 Pocket with new SecureMO Folder file encryption software at Innovations Plus in the CES Central Plaza, USB Tech Zone booth #70533J.

At the show, Fujitsu will demonstrate how its new SecureMO Folder file encryption software, combined with the USB bus-powered Fujitsu DynaMO 1300 Pocket, provides a secure, ultraportable data storage and archival solution. SecureMO Folder file encryption software offers users the ability to encrypt and password-protect their most important computer files, while Fujitsu 3.5-inch MO disks protect critical data against shock, vibration, moisture, dust and magnetic fields. Data encryption and protection is highly desirable for anyone with data security concerns or requirements.

The ultraportable Fujitsu DynaMO 1300 Pocket receives power through its Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface, providing plug-and-play functionality and eliminating the need for an AC adaptor. Additionally, the 1.3GB removable storage drive is fully backwards compatible with lower capacity 640MB, 540MB, 230MB, and 128MB 3.5-inch MO disks. Costing less than a penny per megabyte, each Fujitsu MO disk is enclosed in a protective 3.5-inch cartridge.

The Fujitsu DynaMO 1300 Pocket with SecureMO Folder file encryption software is priced at $199 MSRP. Fujitsu 1.3GB MO disks cost less than $10 each when purchased in a 5-pack and carry a lifetime Limited Warranty. For higher capacity needs, Fujitsu offers the 2.3GB DynaMO 2300U2 MO drive with USB 2.0 interface and SecureMO Folder file encryption software for $299 MSRP.
