Fujitsu Vice Presidents to Discuss the Role of Hard Disk Drives in Consumer Electronics at Storage Visions 2005
San Jose, CA, December 22, 2004 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., one of the world's leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, today announced that Joel Hagberg, vice president, Marketing and Business Development and Mike Chenery, vice president, Advanced Product Engineering will speak at Storage Visions 2005 in Las Vegas, NV. Storage Visions 2005 aims to educate its attendees about the convergence of data storage and content creation and delivery.
Mr. Hagberg will participate in a panel that will discuss "Storage for Mobile Consumers" at 9:00 a.m. PST on January 5. In this session, the panel will speak to the trend of dramatically shrinking form factors in data storage products currently creating new opportunities for consumer applications. Mr. Chenery will participate in a panel on "New Developments and Challenges in Content Storage" at 4:45 p.m. PST on January 5. This session will look at late breaking products and new technologies for data in media storage applications.
Additionally, Fujitsu and Silicon Image will be demonstrating a powerful and unique 2.5" external hard disk drive array that uses the Silicon Image SteelVine™ architecture and Fujitsu 2.5" SATA hard disk drives. This compact form factor appliance prototype can hold up to 400 GB of storage, and can be attached to host systems with an eSATA port, such as laptops or consumer electronic devices such as set top boxes.
