Fujitsu and LSI Logic Showcase Flexibility of Serial Technology at Intel Developers Forum Fall 2004

Innovative Interface Allows Developers to Create Adaptable, Customized Storage Solutions Using Serial Attached SCSI

San Francisco, CA, September 7, 2004 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), one of the world's leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals and LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI), will showcase the flexibility of Serial technology at the Intel Developers Forum Fall 2004 event, held September 7-9 at the Moscone South Convention Center, San Francisco, CA.

Fujitsu and LSI Logic will conduct a live product demonstration in which four Fujitsu 2.5" Small Form Factor (SFF) Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS) 10K enterprise hard disk drives and four Fujitsu 2.5" Serial-ATA (SATA) mobile hard disk drives will populate a four-port LSI Logic SAS controller IC and 12-port LSI Logic SAS expander (http://lsilogic.com/sas). The flexibility of the serial interface exponentially increases the options available to system integrators and solution providers by allowing storage systems to use both SAS and SATA technology interchangeably as needed to accomplish given specifications in the areas of performance, scalability, capacity, power, acoustics or cost.
