Fujitsu to Showcase Innovative Scanning and Removable Storage Solutions at the Business & Technolgy Solutions Show 2004

San Jose, CA, August 19, 2004 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), a market leader in document imaging scanners and services and a leading provider of removable storage solutions, today announced it will be exhibiting and conducting product demonstrations of its ScanSnap™ scanning solution along with its 1.3GB and 2.3GB Magneto-Optical (MO) removable storage solutions at the 2004 Business & Technology Solutions Show in Rosemont, IL on August 24-25, 2004.  

In April 2003 Fujitsu announced its initial introduction of the ScanSnap scanner. Since then the ScanSnap has become an invaluable tool for finance and business professionals allowing users to quickly and easy create digital archives improving efficiency, decreasing data retrieval time, and reducing storage costs. The ScanSnap scanning solution is a compact, upright, one-touch color scanner, allowing users to quickly convert paper documents into searchable Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files that are easily shared, organized and protected.

In May 2004, Fujitsu released a new ScanSnap model elevating the original, award-winning scanner with many new features and capabilities, including higher optical resolution, sleek design, Adobe® Acrobat® 6.0 Standard software, faster file handling, authentic Adobe PDF generation, and a range of image quality and software control improvements. The Fujitsu ScanSnap scanning solution is the first and only high-speed, double-sided color scanner under $500 that transforms paper into useful digital information at speeds of up to 15 pages per minute (PPM) for single-sided documents and 30 images per minute (IPM) for double-sided documents.

The Fujitsu DynaMO® 1300 Pocket drive provides mobile professionals with an easy way to backup and archive important data and computer files virtually anywhere. The ultraportable DynaMO 1300 Pocket drive is 15 oz light and 23mm thin, USB 2.0 bus-powered and requires no AC adapter. The MO drive delivers 1.3GB of removable MO disk storage for only $199†. For users requiring additional capacity, the DynaMO 2300U2 offers 2.3GB of data storage per removable disk and convenient USB 2.0 connectivity. Data is safeguarded on durable 3.5-inch MO disks which are enclosed in a durable cartridge and offer 50-year* data archival life and a Lifetime Limited Warranty. The DynaMO 2300U2 has an MSRP of $299.
