Fujitsu Announces Industry Leading Hard Disk Drive Capacity for the Mobile Storage Market

First Volume Delivery of 100GB Hard Disk Drives Creates New Possibilities for Portable PC and Consumer Product Design

San Jose, CA, June 14, 2004 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), one of the world's leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, today announced volume shipments of its next generation MHU2100AT 2.5" 9.5mm mobile hard disk drive to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Fujitsu's new mobile hard disk drive offers up to 100GB of capacity and nearly a 30% increase in areal density allowing manufacturers to design next generation portable computing and consumer applications.

The MHU2100AT mobile hard disk drive is ideally suited for integration into portable PCs due to outstanding shock tolerance and low power consumption boasting a capacity point that makes the product an invaluable tool for users with advanced storage needs, such as creative professionals that work with audio and video files. The increased capacity point also makes the MHU2100AT hard disk drive perfect for non-traditional vertical markets such as automotive, consumer electronics and industrial applications requiring a wide range of operating temperatures and shock specifications.

• Non-Operating Shock of 8.820m/s2 (900G) (1ms)
• Operating Shock of 2,205 m/s2  225G (2ms)
• Track to Track Seek Times of 1.5 ms typ.

This announcement further validates Fujitsu's leadership in the mobile hard disk drive market following the recent announcement of the MHT-BH hard disk drive, the world's first 2.5" 9.5mm mobile hard disk drive with Serial-ATA Extensions that supports Native Command Queuing.
