Fujitsu Announces Record-Breaking Document Imaging Scanner Shipments At Its 2003 VAR Council Conference

Fujitsu Maintains Number One Market Share in Worldwide Enterprise Document Imaging Market

San Jose, CA, February 19, 2004 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), a market leader in document imaging scanners and services, today announced record breaking volume shipment numbers of its enterprise-level scanners in calendar year 2003. Fujitsu's Imaging Products Group (IPG) also announced it maintained its dominance in the industry owning nearly one-half of the enterprise-level document imaging scanner market worldwide.

According to InfoTrends Research Group, Inc., a Boston-based market research and consulting firm focused on digital imaging technologies and markets, Fujitsu's IPG maintained the industry's number one market share position at 49 percent (total market unit shipments). Also Fujitsu's volume scanner shipments rose over 50% percent from calendar 2002, breaking the previous year's shipment increase of 35% from 2001 to 2002.

Fujitsu officially announced its record breaking year at its first-ever VAR Council, an event where all of Fujitsu's top resellers learn more about the company's award-winning scanners and discuss the market trends with industry experts such as John Mancini, president, AIIM International.
