The new Fujitsu ScanSnap! scanning solution -- a compact, upright color scanner that scans two-sided color documents at speeds up to 15 pages per minute (ppm) -- provides users with a simple method for converting paper to digital image files at the touch of a button. The ScanSnap! scanner offers "always on" convenience, simple connectivity, automatic color, page size, and blank-page detection, and a small footprint allowing it to sit comfortably aside the individual business professional in the office.

As paper is automatically passed from the ScanSnap! scanner's 50-page automatic document feeder (ADF), Adobe PDF files are automatically generated -- digital files organized, shared and protected as easily and routinely as any other files stored on an MS Windows PC or network.

Multi-page documents containing color and black and white, text and graphic information, and text on one or both sides can be automatically processed into Adobe PDF files at the touch of a button, with simplex or duplex color scanning delivered with only one pass-through the scanner. The resulting Adobe PDF images are stored in the Windows file system on a local PC or network, allowing the user to interact with this information as they would with any other file.

Fujitsu's ScanSnap! provides a simple user interface that requires no special training in order for the user to be immediately productive. The scanner connects to the PC via USB port allowing for quick installation and use.  Additional key features of Fujitsu's ScanSnap! scanner include the automatic detection and deletion of blank pages, business card scanning, and an Adobe PDF thumbnail view that makes project management even easier.

Fujitsu's ScanSnap! scanning solution will be available in early May for $495 (U.S. list) through the Fujitsu web site located at http://scansnap.fujitsu.com, via mail order catalogs, and via Fujitsu authorized resellers.

Fujitsu ScanSnap! comes standard with a 1-year depot limited warranty.  Advance Exchange, Fujitsu's overnight replacement program, is offered as an upgrade during the limited warranty period or on a yearly basis post-warranty (contract and agreement required for replacement unit).  The Advance Exchange program for the Fujitsu ScanSnap! scanner assures customers that their businesses will experience minimal disruption in the unlikely event of a hardware failure and provides advance replacement on failed Fujitsu scanners.
