Fujitsu Announces Availability of New Workgroup Scanners
New Scanners Raise Bar In Competitive Workgroup Market Establishing New Ground in Price/Performance Levels
San Jose, CA, June 27, 2002 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), a market leader in document imaging scanners, today announced volume availability of its latest additions to the award-winning "fi" scanner product family. The new ScanPartner fi-4120C and fi-4220C color duplex workgroup scanners were previewed at this year's AIIM Exposition and Conference in San Francisco and were met with resounding market acceptance for delivering exceptional value to the front-office application scanning market.
FCPA's Imaging Products Group (IPG), already the leader in the enterprise-level document imaging scanner market, has specifically targeted the cost-conscious workgroup market segment with the new color duplex scanners. The fi-4120C and fi-4220C, which began shipping on June 18th, are available through FCPA's authorized distributors and network of VARs.

The fi-4120C and fi-4220C offer substantially faster speeds than their predecessors, possessing duplex and color capabilities at speeds up to 25 pages per minute (ppm)/25 images per minute (ipm) enabling businesses to increase efficiency in their decentralized and low volume scanning efforts. The scanners are equipped with a 50-page automatic document feeder (ADF) with double-feed detection for smooth paper feeding and the photograph-friendly dual CCDs scan both sides of a document at once for maximum efficiency. The scanners' selectable Dual Interface allows for SCSI-II or USB 1.1 connectivity.
The fi-4120C and fi-4220C are set in a compact form factor that saves valuable desktop space. In the U.S., the scanners also come equipped with Adobe® Acrobat® 5.0 software to convert any document to an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file. Other inbox applications include ScandAll 21, a TWAIN utility ScandAll 21 and QuickScanTM. Both scanners also have standard on-board JPEG hardware compression to assist with large file sizes.

Pricing and Availability
The new fi-4120C, with true 600dpi optical resolution, offers duplex and color capabilities at speeds up to 25ppm/25ipm at 200dpi monochrome and grayscale, and 25ppm/25ipm at 150dpi full color. The fi-4120C is now available starting at less than $1,200 U.S. list price.
