Fujitsu Awarded 'Best Of AIIM 2002' For New Departmental Color Duplex Scanner
FCPA's fi-4340C "Breaking New Ground" As Transform Magazine Presents Award
San Jose, CA, March 28, 2002 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), a leader in document imaging, today announced its new departmental color production scanner has received the "Best of AIIM 2002" award from CMP Media's Transform Magazine, a publication for business and IT managers with expertise in content and collaboration technologies. The award, presented to FCPA for its departmental-level fi-4340C scanner, represents the third award granted to the company for its new fi-series scanners, including "Best of AIIM 2001".
Transform's "Best of AIIM" award recognizes products that help organizations reinvent the way they do business with breakthrough technologies or powerful combinations of state-of-the-art features.
"The landscape in the imaging industry changes rapidly. To continue to maintain our market share lead in the enterprise-level document imaging scanner market worldwide, Fujitsu is always working to be the most innovative company on the planet," said Victor Kan, director, imaging products group for FCPA. "The Best of AIIM award from Transform Magazine further validates FCPA's ability to deliver exceptional products to an increasingly demanding market. FCPA considers the honor a distinctive benchmark as it confirms we continue to raise the bar for the entire document imaging industry."
"As part of our annual selection process, our editors fanned out at AIIM and personally met with more than 100 vendors and we also carefully reviewed all of the announcements made at the show, " said Doug Henschen, Transform's Editor-in-Chief. "As a follow up, we consulted with analysts, contributing editors, consultants and more than a few customers, so we're confident in our praise of these technologies. In our estimation, Best of AIIM products are breaking new ground and bringing more value to our readers and we felt they deserved recognition. Fast speeds, high resolution, color support and affordability all add up to make Fujitsu's fi-4340C an outstanding value for departmental duplex scanning."
The fi-4340C, which started shipping in January 2002, combines fast color, monochrome and grayscale capture modes and production-level functionality at a cost efficient, departmental price. Its color scanning provides a more authentic reproduction of original documents and can bring out details that may not be picked up with monochrome or grayscale output. The fi-4340C can detect light pencil marks, dark highlighted text and even faint imprinted watermarks, all in a single pass, which has proved invaluable to customers demanding a reliable scanner to handle detail.
Fujitsu's fi-4340C offers industry-leading paper-handling flexibility with a 100-page automatic document feeder (ADF) including infrared document double-feed detection. The scanner's duplex document feeder supports paper sizes as small as 2.1" x 2.9" and as large as 8.5" x 14" and the 100-page ADF can be continuously fed without stopping the scanning process to maximize efficiency. To improve productivity, its dual CCDs scan both sides of a document at once while the automatic page-end detection saves file space and the infrared document double-feed detection reduces downtime by alerting users of any document misfeed. For added scanning flexibility, the product includes a flatbed. For more product information please visit http://www.fcpa.fujitsu.com/products/scanners/fi-4340c/.
