Fujitsu to Launch New Low-Cost Scanners at AIIM 2002
Document Imaging Leader to Demonstrate Complete Family of Color Document Imaging Products at Major Industry Show
San Jose, CA, March 6, 2002 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), a market leader in document imaging scanners, today announced it will reveal its latest additions to the award-winning "fi" scanner product family at the AIIM 2002 Exposition and Conference in San Francisco, California, from March 5-8. The introduction of the new color duplex scanners from Fujitsu's Imaging Products Group (IPG) continues to add to the legacy of the enterprise-level document imaging scanner market leader and its line of color scanning solutions.
The new fi-4120C and fi-4220C color duplex workgroup scanners not only deliver exception value to the front-office application scanning market in a sleek compact form factor that saves valuable desktop space, but, in the U.S., also come equipped with Adobe® Acrobat® 5.0 software to convert any document to an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file.
"With the new fi-4120C and fi-4220C scanners, Fujitsu continues to raise the value proposition for workgroup class scanners," said Susan Moyse, analyst at InfoTrends Research Group, Inc. "The price and performance levels of these scanners promise to make them attractive to a broad audience."
"As always, Fujitsu is pleased to be highlighting its many award-winning products and services at the AIIM Conference," said Shinichi Mori, vice president, Imaging Products Group, Fujitsu Computer Products of America. "This show affords us additional opportunities to speak directly with partners, suppliers, and other imaging industry leaders and to demonstrate precisely why Fujitsu's Imaging Products Group has established such a solid reputation for excellence."
The scanner introductions highlight a busy AIIM 2002 conference for Fujitsu. Not only will Fujitsu have its workgroup scanning line on display at AIIM 2002, they will hold demonstrations of its entire line of color document imaging products and boast speaking engagements by three top FPCA document imaging experts.
Introducing the fi-4120C and fi-4220C, Color Duplex Workgroup Scanners from Fujitsu
Adding to the legacy of Fujitsu's state-of-the-art "fi" scanner product line, the affordable, compact-size fi-4120C and fi-4220C color duplex workgroup scanners are perfect for decentralized applications. The exceptional high-capacity paper handling, high productivity, and selectable RGB color dropout makes forms processing simple. To improve productivity, the scanners' dual CCDs scan both sides of a document at once and are photograph-friendly.
The scanners are offered with Adobe Acrobat 5.0 software in the U.S. which allows the scanner to convert any document to an Adobe PDF file. In addition, the scanners are equipped with a 50-page automatic document feeder (ADF) and comes equipped with ScandAll 21 TWAIN Scan Utility and standard on-board JPEG hardware compression.
The new fi-4120C, with true 600dpi optical resolution, offers duplex and color capabilities at speeds up to 25 pages per minute (ppm)/25 images per minute (ipm) at 200dpi monochrome and grayscale, and 25ppm/25ipm at 150dpi full color. The fi-4120C will be available in early summer starting at less than $1500 U.S. list price.
