Fujitsu's Enterprise Disk Drives Named Best 10K Performance For Servers By StorageReview.com

MAN Series Review Further Validates Fujitsu's Recent Allocation of Resources to the Enterprise Space

San Jose, CA, September 5, 2001 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), one of the leading suppliers of hard drives and computer peripherals, today announced that its enterprise 10,000 RPM MAN series disk drives "delivers best 10K performance for servers," according to a recent Safe Buy Award review conducted by StorageReview.com, an online resource for data pertaining to hard disk, CD-RW, and DVD-ROM drives, including specs, tests, and comparison engines. Fujitsu's MAN series, already recognized for delivering the industry's lowest levels of heat and noise, proved to provide the highest level of quality and performance in demanding database and file server environments, effectively servicing high-end workstations, transaction servers, and AV editing.

"Over the past few years, Fujitsu's line of 10K RPM drives have been quietly (both figuratively and literally) delivering excellent performance that contends for a performance crown," said Eugene Ra, editor and reviewer at StorageReview.com.

"It's in IOMeter that the MAN gets to flex its muscles," said Ra, who discovered that the MAN drive exceeds all competing products in critical IOMeter File Server and Database performance indexes by a minimum of 9 percent. The MAN drive also exceeds the Workstation Performance index by 3 percent against all competing products, according to Ra's review. Maxtor's Atlas 10K III came is second place, and Seagate's Cheetah 73LP trailed in third place in all three IOMeter categories.

In closing, Ra noted that the Fujitsu MAN series "is delivering performance where it matters," positioning the MAN drives as the ideal product when price and heat are notable variables. Additionally, Ra alludes to the excitement surrounding Fujitsu's recently released 15K MAM series, which is currently being reviewed by StorageReview.com.

"Fujitsu takes pride in building the highest performance SCSI drives available, and we are honored to be recognized by StorageReview.com," said Mitsuhiro Okada, senior director of market analysis, at FCPA. "The review award is another example of our expertise and innovation in the enterprise hard drive space, further validating our recent decision to focus our resources on this market segment."
