Fujitsu Computer Products of America Presents Real Vision Software and the Tamalpais Group with Innovative Leadership Award

Partnership of VAR and Software Application Produce Outstanding Customer Solution

San Jose, CA, February 12, 2001 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., (FCPA) a market leader in document imaging scanners, has announced that The Tamalpais Group and RealVision Software, Inc. are the joint recipients of Fujitsu's Innovative Leadership Award. The award is designed to recognize independent software and hardware vendors (ISV's and IHV's) as well as VAR's that provide an imaging solution that significantly improves a business process and positively impacts the customer's bottom line.

Kurt Wachtendorf, CDIA and director of the Document Imaging Group at the Tamalpais Group in Tulsa OK responded when notified of winning the award, "It just goes to show that great things can happen when two exceptional companies combine their efforts. Fujitsu has become our leader for scanning options over the last year. We are very pleased with the entire product line from the SP3091DC to the M4099D."

Real Vision Software, Inc. (RVI) provides a cross industry AS/400 based imaging solution through the IBM Business Partner channels. Dave Woodring, RVI Vice President states, "We are delighted with this award. Key elements for a successful imaging installation and a satisfied customer are dependable, quality scanners with good support. Fujitsu is a good fit, helping our customers meet their scanning needs with a full range of dependable scanners and outstanding support after the sale."

Award Winning Imaging Solution

Auburn Bank, founded in 1907, has strong community ties in Auburn, Alabama. With headquarters and five branch locations, Auburn Bank serves a customer base of approximately 35,000 individuals. Depending on the loan type, the bank creates from 10 to 40 multi-page documents during the loan process. Each day approximately 20 to 25 new loans are processed, and storage space is needed in an area accessible to bank personnel. Having run out of filing space completely, the bank was in need of a solution that would reduce their paper volume, increase efficiency and boost customer service.

Document imaging became the answer for Auburn Bank. The Tamalpais Group, specialists in document management and imaging solutions, were consulted and helped to implement and design the solution for Auburn Bank. With four Fujitsu M3097 scanners already online at the bank, Tamalpais chose to install the RVI Imaging System from Real Vision Software, Inc. Marketed by IBM, the software was designed exclusively for the IBM/400 system.

"We felt the Real Vision solution would be ideal for us because it's designed specifically for the AS/400 system we already had in place," says AuburnBank chief technology officer John Reynolds.

Offering production level performance and speed, the M3097 scanner is capable of reading 70 images per minute in duplex mode. Automatic document feeders with 100-sheet capacity allow continuous, unattended scanning which allows AuburnBank more operational efficiency.

Of the imaging solution, Ginnie Lunsford, vice president of lending operations at Auburn Bank had this to say; "Our customers no longer need to wait on hold. They're absolutely amazed at how fast we can help them now. By the time a customer asks a question, we've already got the file open on the computer screen."

Auburn Bank employees are now able to view reports online, as they are now automatically captured and distributed to the user's workstations. Real Vision continues to be explored in the bank's quest to make loan reporting easier and more efficient.

Product upgrades for M3097 scanner

The recently released Fujitsu M4097D scanner offers many performance enhancing features. As an upgrade of the M3097, the M4097 is 22% faster, scanning 50 pages per minute, and 90 images per minute duplex. It offers improved paper handling, with infrared document double feed protection, as well as length detection. The M4097 also has better image quality, with 10-bit internal grayscale.
