Fujitsu Expands Thermal Printer Offering with Standalone Receipt Printer Family

Outstanding speed, reliability and flexibility reduce total system costs

Sunnyvale, CA, April 9, 2009 —  A new family of compact, single-station thermal receipt printers debuted today from Fujitsu Components America, Inc. The high-speed, standalone units are optimized to improve throughput efficiency and reduce the total cost of ownership of self-service and kiosk systems, as well as gaming, scales, voting and medical applications.

The printer family consists of the FP510, FP460 and FP360, offering maximum print speeds of 260mm, 210mm and 160mm per second, respectively. These printers have the same space-efficient, 207(L) x 145(H) x 128(D) mm footprint with front-feed media delivery to minimize occupied counter top space. A splash-proof casing adds extra protection in demanding environments, such as industrial or healthcare.

The printers accommodate variable paper widths up to 83mm and have a maximum 102mm (outside diameter) paper roll capacity to reduce paper changes. Especially suited for long-term installations, the reliability is rated at 70 million lines (MCBF), 150km of paper and 2 million cuts.

Standard features for all the printers are 2-color printing of characters, graphics and bar codes at 203dpi resolution, 3MB user memory, a programmable auto-cutter, and drop-in paper loading. Available interfaces, which are user changeable, include serial (RS232), parallel (Centronics), USB 2.0 Full Speed, and combo RS232C + USB. Additionally, the FP510 offers a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet interface.

The printers are available immediately. Delivery is 14-16 weeks ARO.
