Fujitsu Releases Interface Board for High-End Printer Features

Sunnyvale, CA, August 5, 2008 —  Fujitsu Components America, Inc. today introduced a new interface board series for its 2, 3, and 4-inch, 5V thermal printer mechanisms. The new interface boards support high-end features such as high-speed data communications, fast print speeds, USB 2.0 and high speed (460kbps) Serial (RS232-C) connectivity, and OCR extended numeric characters.

The FTP-628DSL600 board series supports thermal print speeds up to 80mm/sec. Although developed for Fujitsu’s latest line of 4-inch thermal printer mechanisms, the FTP-648MCL, the new interface boards are also compatible with many of Fujitsu’s earlier 2- and 3-inch horizontal and vertical mechanisms.

With dimensions of 2.73 x 2.05 in. (69.30 x 52.00mm), the board features Flash memory, and near-end detection. It supports many user-programmable features, including multi-language fonts and bar code or image rotation, and print speed. It has a 4.2V to 8.5V head/motor operating voltage range.

The FTP-628DSL600 board series is available immediately. Pricing is from $70- 80 per device in 1000-piece quantities. Delivery is stock to 16 weeks ARO.
