Fujitsu Introduces Cost-Efficient, Long-Life Mini-Kiosk Printer

Sunnyvale, CA, April 23, 2007 — Fujitsu Components America, Inc. today released a receipt printer with an integrated cutter for compact devices such as mini-kiosks, POS terminals, ATMs, and scientific and medical equipment.

The 24-volt, FTP-627USL431/435-R measures a compact 145mm (H) x 105mm (W) x 120mm (D) and weighs 840g, including the interface board. The thermal print unit quietly outputs 58mm-wide paper receipts at speeds up to 100mm per second.

The fully programmable printer supports a variety of characters and graphics as well as standard, extended and 2-D barcode symbols. It has a rated head life of 100 million pulses or 50km of paper.

For long-term printing requirements, the unit handles paper rolls up to 83mm in diameter. Paper is inserted by drop-in roll loading using the platen release lever. A dedicated cutter motor provides reliable, continuous printing for 500,000 cuts.

The subassembly features a rugged, metal frame for stability and static electricity discharge absorption. It has an operating temperature range of 0 to 50 degree C.

Available immediately, the RoHS-compliant FTP-627USL431/435-R can be specified with either a USB or Serial interface board. A USB printer subassembly is priced at $188 each in one thousand-piece quantities. Delivery is 14-16 weeks ARO.
