Miniature 6A Power Relay Has High Sensitivity and High Insulation

FTR-LY Series Relay

Sunnyvale, CA, February 18, 2003 — Fujitsu Components America, Inc. today added to its power relay line a miniature 6A-class device with high-sensitivity properties for industrial and programmable logic controller applications.

The new FTR-LY relay has 170mW nominal coil power and a contact rating of 250VAC. It is designed with a minimum of piece parts and a coil terminal over-molding to achieve its compact configuration and high reliability. As a result, the FTR-LY is 58% the volume of the company’s 8A, 220mW relay, the JS. The FTR-LY also has a 27.8mm (L) x 4.9mm (W) footprint that occupies less than half (48%) the JS’s mounting space.

The FTR-LY features a minimum of 8mm creepage and clearance distance from coil to contact, which provides high-insulation properties that comply with VDE0700 standards. The use of cadmium-free materials also meets the requirements of many environmental programs. A lead-free version of the relay is also available.

The FTR-LY has a mechanical life of 10 million operations at 250VAC, 6 A resistive load (NO). Other specifications include a 1000V dielectric strength between open contacts/4,000V between coil and contacts, 6,000V surge strength, and an operating temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees C.

Available immediately from stock, the FTR-LY comes in a 1 Form A and 1 Form C. A right-angle version is also available. Pricing for a FTR-LYAA012V (1formA) is $1.70 in 10,000 quantities.
