USB 2-Port KVM Switch Targets Small Business

Sunnyvale, CA, September 17, 2001 — Fujitsu Components America’s latest addition to its SERVIS™ KVM switch line is a 2-port device that allows small businesses to efficiently manage multiple-platform host systems from a single keyboard, mouse and monitor. Up to two KVM units can be connected to support a maximum of four host systems, providing a cost-efficient and time saving means of managing or updating equipment.
The new FS-102ATU KVM switch features a dedicated USB hub port for each host on the front panel to connect USB peripherals from the user’s console. In addition, a PS/2 connector for each host system provides legacy host support.
Each port features a dedicated microprocessor, which ensures stable switching between hosts and allows simultaneous system startups regardless of the platform. Switching between systems is accomplished by pushing a button on the front of the panel or by using keyboard hot keys.
The compact console measures 148mm (W) x 115mm (D) x 39.4mm (H) to allow remote system monitoring from a desktop. It supports video resolutions up 1600 x 1200 at 200MHz, as well as 2- and 3-button mice, PS/2 keyboards and mice, and scrolling mice.
The KVM unit is host powered, so no outside power source is needed. An AC adapter is included for USB devices that require it.
