Fujitsu Consulting Named a Top Supplier for Boeing in 2002

Firm distinguished for improving business processes of aviation leader

Edison, NJ, March 27, 2003 — Fujitsu Consulting, the global consulting and services arm of Fujitsu Ltd., today announced that its longtime client, The Boeing Company, [NYSE: BA], has selected it as a "Supplier of the Year" for 2002. Boeing commended Fujitsu Consulting for its consistent delivery of management and technology consulting services that have improved its business processes and contributed to the aerospace company’s competitiveness and success in 2002.

Boeing Suppliers of the Year award annually recognizes a select group of the many outstanding suppliers that bring their knowledge, experience, talent and leadership to bear on the success of the entire Boeing enterprise. Fujitsu Consulting was selected on statistical measurements of quality, on-time delivery, post delivery support and cost after an exhaustive review process. Fujitsu Consulting was the company honored among the Non-Production Suppliers. Boeing has more than 11,300 suppliers in 66 countries.

"We have been continually impressed with the high caliber of Fujitsu’s consulting and the excellence of their products and services," said Scott Griffin, Boeing chief information officer. "Fujitsu’s performance in 2002 included cost, delivery and quality measurements that were excellent and represent its commitment to supporting Boeing goals and objectives."

"Boeing is a first-class global company and we are very honored to have been selected for this distinction," said Michael J. Poehner, President and CEO of Fujitsu Consulting. "I view this award as the ultimate vote of confidence in the high quality of our consultants and in the methodologies they use to deliver consistently superior value to Boeing. The award is also significant because it underscores our success in building a relationship with Boeing. We regard Boeing as much more than a client. We are partners."

Fujitsu Consulting, which changed its name one year ago from DMR Consulting, has been working with Boeing for more than 13 years on application development, subcontracting and high-level management consulting work involving Macroscope®, its industry-recognized suite of business and information technology methodologies.   Boeing has adopted Macroscope as the companywide standard for application development & maintenance methodology.

Fujitsu Consulting has a large application development center in Atlantic Canada working on Boeing projects and is expanding its global delivery capability to service Boeing from other parts of the world, said Dave Chapman, Vice President at Fujitsu Consulting and Boeing Account Director.

"We work closely with Boeing to consistently deliver high quality application systems in less time and for lower cost,’’ Chapman said. "Boeing and Fujitsu Consulting are a great strategic fit."
