Glovia Receives Funding From California’s Employment Training Panel To Expand Ongoing Programs

El Segundo, CA, December 11, 2003 – Glovia International, a subsidiary of Fujitsu and a leading provider of extended ERP solutions for engineer-to-order and high volume manufacturers, today announced the company received a $128,080 performance based contract from California’s Employment Training Panel (ETP) to continue and expand employee computer, business and advanced technology training programs. The scheduled rollout plan for the ETP-funded training is between December 3, 2003 and December 2, 2005 and will affect 107 of Glovia’s California-based employees.

Fujitsu Brings Dynamism and Power of Negotiation to the Electronic Marketplace

Kawasaki, Japan and Sunnyvale, CA, October 6, 2003 – Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. and Fujitsu Laboratories of America, Inc. today announced that they have developed an open protocol to bring automated negotiation to the electronic marketplace. Computers representing two sides of an e-commerce transaction can generate and exchange proposals back and forth until they find a set of terms that is optimal for both sides. Experienced negotiators know that when a negotiation is enlarged to include a richer set of business terms it becomes easier for both sides to extract value from the transaction. By using computers to automate the negotiation process, a very large number of business terms can be used. This allows both sides to extract more value from each transaction than ever before. This will make e-commerce transactions more efficient, and potentially create entirely new markets.

Fujitsu Reports FY2003 First Quarter Financial Results

Tokyo, July 29, 2003 – Fujitsu Limited, a leader in customer-focused IT and communications solutions for the global marketplace, today reported consolidated net sales of 938.7 billion yen, approximately US$7.8 billion*, for the first quarter of fiscal year 2003 (April 1 - June 30, 2003), a 4.5% decrease from the first quarter of fiscal 2002. Lower sales of platforms products and other factors contributed to the overall decline in sales. While the company is reaping the benefits of lower fixed costs stemming from the restructuring initiatives implemented last year, the impact of lower sales resulted in an operating loss of 37.8 billion yen.

Sunnyvale, CA and Tokyo, JP, July 14, 2003 – AMD (NYSE: AMD) and Fujitsu Limited (TSE: 6702, "Fujitsu") today announced the formation of a new Flash memory semiconductor joint venture that will market its solutions under the new Spansion™ global product brand name. The new company, FASL LLC, was formed by the integration of AMD's and Fujitsu's Flash memory businesses. The new joint venture is the largest Flash memory company in the world based on dedicated resources that include gross assets having a net book value of approximately US$3 billion and approximately 7,000 employees. Spansion Flash memory solutions are available worldwide from AMD and Fujitsu.
