First Station-to-Station Transmission of High Definition Video Programming in Japan Using MPEG-4 AVC (H.264)

Sunnyvale, CA, June 25, 2007 – Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., one of the world’s leading suppliers of innovative computer products including hard disk drives, peripherals, and Ethernet switches, announced that Fujitsu Limited developed a new High-Definition (HD) video encoder to enable station-to-station transmission between TV Asahi and All Nippon Network (ANN) affiliated companies. The new service enables high quality video transmission from station-to-station using inexpensive broadband public IP lines.
